Education
I received a MSc degree in Computer Science and Computer Engineering in January 2004 and a PhD in Computer Science in October 2008, both from the University of Catania. I defended a PhD thesis on "Complex networks and community structures: analysis and applications to efficient peer-to-peer overlays". You can donwload the PDF here.
Current Position
Since November 2015 I am Lecturer in the School of Mathematical Science at Queen Mary University of London.
Previous Positions
From January 2013 to October 2015 I worked as a senior research assistant in the School of Mathematical Sciences at Queen Mary University of London, on the EU Project "LASAGNE".
From December 2011 to December 2012 I worked as a research assistant at the Computer Laboratory, University of Cambridge, on the research project "MOLTEN: Mathematics of Large Technological Evolving Networks" under the supervision of Dr. Cecilia Mascolo
From 2010 to 2011 I was a research assistant in the Theoretical Physics group at the Physics Department, University of Catania, under the supervision of Prof. Vito Latora.
From 2008 to 2010 I held a joint research assistant position at the Mathematics Department (University of Catania) and at the Laboratory for Complex Systems (Scuola Superiore di Catania), working on the research programme "Advanced numerical methods for complex networks", under the supervision of Prof. Giovanni Russo
