LMS Groups and Applications triangle meeting

An LMS Groups and Applications triangle meeting will take place in Queen Mary, University of London on 1st October 2008. The venue for lectures will be the Maths Lecture Theatre. Tea and Coffee should be available in room 102 (the Common Room) from approximately 1:00 pm onwards. The programme will be approximately as follows (timings will probably vary, and be a few minutes later than advertised).

2:00–3:00 pm    Colva M. Roney-Dougal (St Andrews)    Constructive recognition of semilinear and subfield groups
 
3:00–4:00 pm Sarah Astill (Birmingham) Character theory for recognizing groups from their 3-local subgroups
 
Tea and Coffee in room 102
 
4:30–5:30 pm Derek F. Holt (Warwick) Enumerating Permutation Groups
