Irreducible Specht modules for Iwahori–Hecke
algebras of type A—revisited (revisited)
Matthew Fayers (Queen Mary), 22nd October 2009
Abstract
The Iwahori–Hecke algebra is a finite-dimensional algebra which resmebles
the group algebra of the symmetric group. An outstanding
problem which has gained some attention in recent years is the classification
of irreducible Specht modules for these algebras. I’ll report on a
little more progress with this problem, specifically the proof of a conjecture
from my talk of a year ago concerning the case of prime characteristic.
