Current teaching at Queen Mary
(Winter 2018) Mathematical Problem Solving
[MTH6124]
The 3rd year module is concerned with solving problems rather than building up the theory of a particular area of mathematics. The problems are wide ranging with some emphasis on problems in pure mathematics and on problems that do not require knowledge of other undergraduate modules for their solution.
Past teaching at Queen Mary
- (Winter 2012,2013, 2014; Autumn 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017) Cryptography
[MTH6115].
This is a 3rd year undergraduate course. It covers traditional methods of cryptography, some basic information theory (Shannon's theorem), public-key cryptography and some basic complexity theory. - (Winter 2015, 2016) Communicating and Teaching Mathematics: the Undergraduate Ambassadors Scheme
[MTH6110].
This is a 2nd year module intended to allow undergraduates to gain valuable transferable skills whilst exploring the teaching profession first hand by working with a teacher in a local school. - (Autumn 2014) Geometry II: Knots and Surfaces
[MTH5109].
This is a 2nd year undergraduate course. It covers geometry of curves and surfaces (with a little bit of Knot Theory), leading up to Gauss-Bonnet. - (Winter 2013, 2014) Topology
[MTH732U][MTHM732].
This is a 3rd and 4th year course on point set topology.
Past teaching at King's College London
- (Winter 2011) Fourier Analysis [6CCM318A][7CCMMS11].
The purpose of the course is to introduce the notions of Fourier series and Fourier transform and to study their basic properties. It is a course for 3rd/4th year undergraduate and postgraduate students. - (Winter 2011) Elementary Number Theory [5CCM224A][6CCM224B].
This is an elementary number theory course for second and third year undergraduate students. - (Winter 2010) Algebraic Geometry [7CCMMS20].
This is an elementary algebraic geometry course for 4th year undergraduate and postgraduate students. - (Winter 2010) Geometry of Surfaces [5CCM223A][6CCM223B].
This is an elementary differential geometry course for second and third year undergraduate students. - (Winter 2009) Algebraic Geometry [7CCMMS20].
